Conor McGregor reveals plan to 'go even BIGGER' after dramatic body transformation as he plots UFC return

CONOR MCGREGOR is eyeing a welterweight showdown for his eagerly-anticipated return to the UFC after packing on the pounds.

The Notorious is in the final phase of his recovery from the horrific broken leg he suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last July.

McGregor, 33, has packed on some serious size during his time on the sidelines, so much so he thinks his days competing at lightweight could be a thing of the past.

He told The MacLife: "It’s about finding out which weight now. I just don’t really see myself going back to 155 again.

"I’m eating, I’m lifting, I’m training and I’m not cutting calories so this is my natural state. I can go even bigger.”

“I’m eyeballing 170, I think. I don’t want to go too much above 170, so I like 170, I’ve always had a great time when I’ve had a full camp at 170 with correct preparation.

McGregor to have Las Vegas meeting with UFC boss White to discuss return

"The [Nate] Diaz 2 rematch and the ‘Cowboy’ [Donald] fight in particular. I thought they were flawless performances.

"They were probably some of my best performances inside the UFC octagon and they were without any calorie deficiency whatsoever.”

Former two-division champion McGregor revealed last month that he was hoping to return to the cage in summer.

But UFC president Dana White expects the Irishman to be back in action in the 'fall' [autumn].

He told SunSport: "We're looking at early fall, if everything goes right."

White and the UFC brass, however, won't rush McGregor back until doctors give him the all-clear to return to resume full training.

He said: "If his leg heals right and he gets the clearance to really start training, then possibly early fall."

MMA mogul White plans to meet the UFC's poster boy in the coming weeks to discuss his recovery and a date for his blockbuster return.

When asked about McGregor's recent call-out of welterweight champ Kamaru Usman, White told The MacLife: "Yeah, it's interesting, I hadn't heard that.
