The midfielder's contract expires in 2024, but there is an option to extend the deal by a further year for the club.

The East Londoners will use this clause in their negotiations and argue that his contract is valid until 2025.

The England international is valued at £100million and is believed to be a target for the Gunners, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

And if West Ham receive a bid that matches their price tag, they will be willing to let Rice go.

According to Football Insider, Rensch, 20, is viewed as an alternative if the Gunners miss out on Real Valladolid prospect Ivan Fresneda.

The defender has already played for the Netherlands' national team and could make the right-back spot his own.

That would allow Ben White to go back to playing as a centre-back.

    More from Aliadiere

The Frenchman has argued that Arsenal need to makw signings in order to close the quality gap to Manchester City.

He told Premier League Betting: "Arsenal need more depth in the squad to close the gap on Manchester City. Apart from last night, the previous results show Arsenal are just getting tired, especially Saka and Martinelli. Every time Arsenal conceded you felt they had that extra gear to pull it back, but lately that hasn’t been the case.

"When we were 2-0 up against Liverpool, and then they got back into the game, we had nothing more to give. Because of tiredness, you realise that when you do have one of your starting 11 injured or off-form you’re looking at the bench and saying, yeah Trossard is giving you as much as Martinelli and Jesus but apart from him, unfortunately Smith-Rowe has been out pretty much all season.

"Nketiah and Smith-Rowe are quality but unfortunately haven’t had match fitness. So to bring them in off the bench to offer the same as the starting-11, it’s tough. I feel we need to compete and we’re going to need to strengthen with the Champions League.

"It’s not like the Europa League where you can just rotate in the group stage because you’re pretty much guaranteed to stay top. Next year they can’t do that or they’ll finish bottom of the group. He needs depth in his squad."

    Aliadiere names 'hardest' opponent

The ex-Gunner has admitted that Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic was the toughest player he faced.

He told Premier League Betting: "My toughest opponent was Nemanja Vidic, or Ricardo Carvalho. On top of reading the game well, Vidic was nasty, he will get the ball but will kick your legs with it, step on your toe. It was always a tough battle against Vidic.

"He was harder than John Terry, not that Terry was soft at all! I just felt with Terry, because I was quick, I could get away from him and make sure I’m never too close to being caught by him.

"But Vidic would not let you move away from him, he would be on you all the time."

    More from Aliadiere

The former Arsenal striker has also insisted that rivals Tottenham are very far behind his old club.

Aliadiere suggested that only Harry Kane would get into Mikel Arteta's team.

He said: "I can’t think of any Tottenham players, apart from Harry Kane, who would get in Arsenal’s team right now. Kane is a great striker, world-class.

"The only other player I really liked was Rodrigo Bentancur, every time I’ve seen him play I always thought he was great.

"I’ve seen him with Uruguay too and he’s fantastic, but apart from Kane I wouldn’t pick any of their players for Arsenal."

Aliadiere backs Arsenal move for Guehi

Jeremie Aliadiere believes that Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi would be a good addition to the Gunners.

He told Premier League Betting: "I think Marc Guehi would be a great signing. He’s been fantastic this season, he’s strong and he can play so he has every attribute to become a top player.

"Saliba and Gabriel have been fantastic, but when Saliba started getting injured, that was when things started going wrong.

"I’m not saying Rob Holding hasn’t performed, but at that level it’s little details that make a big difference so I think he’d be great.

"It all depends on what Arteta has in mind. Will he like to rotate or keep his starting-XI? But it’s tough to stay match-fit as a centre-back. As a forward you get chances to come on more."

    MORNING, ARSENAL FANS

The Gunners could "swap" Granit Xhaka for Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby.

And Arsenal, as well as Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, could bid for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Leverkusen have offered ex-Borussia Monchengladbach anchorman Xhaka the chance to return to the Bundesliga.

The £15million-rated Swiss star is a Gunners' regular but faces a bit-part role next season if £100m main target Declan Rice comes in.

Emirates Mikel Arteta also wants a second new central midfielder.

And if Leverkusen step up their interest in Xhaka it could help set up a move in the other direction for Diaby.

But Newcastle, Manchester United and PSG are also keen on the France winger, 23.

Roma are closing on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who has long been admired by Arsenal.

And Juventus are reportedly baulking at splashing out more than £22m on Lazio's £35.5m-rated Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

It's reckoned that could revive interest from both the Gunners and the Red Devils.

Leverkusen in for Xhaka – with a 'swap' possible

Granit Xhaka has been offered the chance to return to Germany’s Bundesliga by Bayer Leverkusen.

And Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will not stand in his way if he wants to leave.

The midfielder, 30, has been a huge figure in the Gunners’ title bid.

And he is now adored by fans after his previous Emirates fallout.

But Arteta wants to sign £100million-rated West Ham skipper Declan Rice and another central midfielder this summer.

That would leave Swiss Xhaka facing the prospect of seeing out the final year of his deal on the subs’ bench.

With Leverkusen willing to offer the former Borussia Monchengladbach man a long-term deal, he is tempted by the opportunity to extend his top-flight career.

It also throws up the prospect of Arsenal allowing Xhaka to leave for £15m.

And that could help set up a deal for Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.

The Gunners are battling with Newcastle, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for the £50m-rated 23-year-old France international.

United and Arsenal still on Dusan trail

Dusan Vlahovic is back on Manchester United and Arsenal's radar.

That's the claim from 90min amid claims the Juventus striker's agent is trying to sort out a Premier League move this summer.

Chelsea, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the Serbia star, 23.

United have mainly been linked to Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen as boss Erik ten Hag seeks a new world-class frontman.

But Vlahovic is the youngest of the three – and would surely be cheaper than Osimhen.

Arsenal and Utd boost over Sergej

Arsenal and Manchester United have received a transfer boost amid their reported interest in Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

According to Calciomercato, the Roman giants demand €40million (£35.5m) for Milinkovic-Savic.

However, Juventus are unwilling to spend any more than €25m (£22m) to prise the midfielder away from the Serie A outfit.

The Gunners and United have previously been linked with the Serbia international, who will have one year left on his contract after the summer.

    Merson slams Martial

Arsenal hero Paul Merson believes Anthony Martial “shouldn’t be playing for Manchester United”.

That was after United’s 1-0 loss at Brighton last week.

Merson wrote for Sportskeeda: “Manchester United’s current front three is Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Antony, but I think there will be changes this summer, one million per cent.

“They need a Harry Kane up front. Anthony Martial – seriously? He shouldn’t be playing for Manchester United, sorry.”

Controversy as 'Arsenal fan beaten up in Toon home end'

This is the shocking moment an Arsenal fan was beaten up after being discovered in the home end by Newcastle fans.

The Gunners won 2-0 on Sunday but in a video shared by Twitter account Away Day Sleepers, an Arsenal supporter could be seen high up in the Milburn Stand.

Shocking moment Arsenal fan takes brutal beating after being spotted in home end by fuming Newcastle supporters

As stewards approached, the Arsenal fan got back to his feet, and appeared to be told to "get out" by furious home supporters.

Just moments later, and with young children in the vicinity, the fan could then be seen appearing to engage in a fierce confrontation with Toon fans, before being wrestled down again from behind.

Throughout the incident, a child can seemingly be heard shouting "dad" repeatedly.

Twitter account Newcastle United FC Fans, who appeared to originally post the clip, alleged that the Arsenal supporter had "thrown bottles around" while goading the home crowd. They tweeted: "The bairns who witnessed this, an Arsenal supporter in the nufc family stand, have been left traumatised.
