  • TOTTENHAM are trying to persuade Toby Alderweireld to agree to a contact extension.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Spurs are in the process of attempting to persuade the Belgian to stay in North London.

Despite no club choosing to meet the centre-back's £25m buyout clause before it expired on Friday, he could still be bought by another side in January.

  • DANI ALVES has put Tottenham and other Premier League clubs on red alert after making his desire for a new club clear on social media.

Despite being awarded the best player award at this summer's Copa America, the full-back is struggling to find a new club after leaving PSG at the end of last season.

This has lead the defender to take matters into his own hands on Instagram.

He posted, “Looking for a job, where do I put my CV? Someone let me know if you have time to read it”.

  • TOTTENHAM are prepared to pay £54m for Ajax star David Neres.

According to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Spurs are prepared to pay more than Everton to add the skilful Brazilian to their ranks.

The Toffees will reportedly pay up to £45m for the winger but no more.

With a talented wide player having been cited as a player the North London club have needed by pundits for years, the 22-year-old seems to fit the bill, after scoring 12 goals and earning 15 assists in all competitions last season.
