A woman has shared a gross body-shaming conversation she had with a man on a dating app who tried to give her "constructive criticism".

In a TikTok video, user @katielacie spilled the beans on the whole conversation, including her own insult.

She said the man commented: "You would be perfect if you lost like seven pounds. You're very pretty."

The TikToker said she simply replied: "What?"

He continued: "Oh I'm sorry, I hope you don't take offence to that. I'm a personal trainer."

She replied: "Oh ok, phew! I was offended until I knew you had the credentials to body-shame me."

"We're good right?" he asked.

She said: "Of course, you were just giving constructive criticism."

Responding with a smiley face emoji, the man apparently replied: "Exactly! Glad we're on the same page."

She then wrote: "You would be perfect if you were a different person.

"Don't worry, I'm a therapist. I have the credentials to recognise poor character."

Bizarrely, she said the man still continued to try and chat her up and even gave a lewd innuendo about how she could "make it up to him and also lose the extra weight".

The video was "liked" more than 400,000 times since it was uploaded with the hashtags #tinder and #bumble and many people were appalled by the body-shaming behaviour.

One person wrote: "Sad how they want to start out by lowering your self-esteem because they know the girl is out of their league."

Someone else said: "He really thought saying he is a personal trainer we give free rein. The audacity."

A man joked: "This is the best I needed that laugh today. Is that the trick to dating apps? Criticise and just expect girls to just fall over me?"

Someone else said: "I'm sorry, seven pounds? It's so specific and you wouldn't even notice that loss on most people."
