The moon has powerful properties.
Not only does it control the tides, it can also apparently give you intuitive energy, and has often been cited as the cause of several ‘weird’ incidents when the moon is full.
The word ‘lunacy’ is testament to this belief, and we all know the folklore about wolves.
Those who believe in astrology and mystical energy, will tell you that the moon is useful for manifestation and magic, and by tapping in to the moon, we can harness its power for our own lives.
You may already know about charging crystals with the moon to bring positive energy and good vibes to your career, love life, and more – but did you know about moon water?
Similar to charging crystals, you can leave water outdoors to ‘charge’ under the full moon, using the connection between the moon and earth’s water due to the tides.
You must add intention to focus on, such as peace, love, or acceptance, whatever it is you are trying to manifest in your life.
Placing crystals in or around the water is also thought to increase the energy levels.
While you can make moon water any time there is moonlight, it’s best to do so when there is a full moon because lunar energy is apparently strongest under a full moon.
You should never make moon water during an eclipse, because eclipse energy will overpower the positive lunar energy.
The moon water will also be affected by which zodiac sign the moon is in at that moment, as different signs will encourage different traits and manifestations.
How to make moon water
You’ll need a jar or a container.
A clear mason jar, or something similar, will be best – but any kind will do.
You’ll also need cleansing herbs, like mugwort, lavender, rosemary, sweetgrass, or whichever herb you think is best for what you’re trying to manifest.
Start by cleansing your jar or container with the smoke from your herbs, then place a label to date your moon water to note which sign and phase the moon is in. Eg. ‘Full Moon in Venus, September 29 2021’.
Add crystals to the jar and then add water, and place it somewhere outside so it can absorb the energy. The water will ‘charge’ even if you can’t see the full moon.
This is optional, but meditation is also thought to be a great way to focus on the intention you want to set.
When your moon water is ready, read your intention out loud (a promotion, peace, or love) and hold your palms over the water to continue the connection.
You can then use it to clean your sacred space, add it to your bath, cleanse your home, water your plants, use it in an essential oil diffuser, drink it, or anything else that will help you get what you want.
