Tesco shoppers rush to buy energy saving essential for £13 instead of £40 – and it’s the cheapest around | The Sun

TESCO shoppers have been rushing to buy a energy saving gadget for just £13.

The major supermarket is selling a Minky three tier plus clothes airer for a whopping £27 less than other retailers.

Eager shoppers have been sharing the airer online and remarking on its low price.

Several bargain hunters posted the find onto deal-finding site HotUKDeals.

The posts were met with more than 200C heat ratings – meaning that fellow customers agree it was a great price.

They each shared photos of the airer in its packaging as well as its low price tag.

One wrote: "Very useful airer. The easiest to put up I’ve ever had.

"Very stable when folded out and has plenty of drying space. I liked it so much I bought another one."

Another said: "Very good airer, folds up and stores well, stable when full of washing."

A third commented: "Best clothes airer I've ever bought. Tall but very space saving and sturdy. Happy with my purchase."

The airer is only available in Tesco stores as we could not find it listed online.

When fully open it is approximately 139 x 80.5 x 48cm, when folded it sits at 83 x 77 x 5cm.

It is said to use "Sure Grip" technology with textured non slip rungs, which in turn holds garments firmly in place.

The handy gadget offers 21 metres of hanging space, made up of 15m of rung drying space plus four flip out corners that hold 12 extra-long hanging items.

It means that you can hang a whole 21kg of washing on the airer, and in warmer months you wouldn't have to use a tumble dryer at all.

Tumble dryers are regularly referred to as "demon" energy guzzling gadgets which can really push up your bills.

Under the new price cap cost 90p per load, so if you used it three times a week for a year, you're looking at a whopping £140 added to your bill.

Instead, why not load up an airer with your washing and save yourself some cash.

Tesco's price is a huge bargain compared to other retailers selling the same product.

We found it listed on Dunelm for £32 and on the official Minky website for £40.

The next cheapest we found after Tesco was at Asda for £17.

Do bear in mind that when prices are reduced by this much it's usually in order for stores to clear excess stock, so prices and stock will vary from store to store.

It's always best to phone ahead to your local shop to check what they have available to avoid disappointment.

You can find your nearest Tesco store using the locator tool on the website.

It always pays to compare prices so you know you're getting the best deal.

We had a look online to see how the cost of similar items at other retailers.

We found that Dunelm is selling an own-brand airer for £12, while Robert Dyas has one for £19.99.

Plus, if you're looking to grab a heated airer to help your clothes along a little more when drying you can grab a £12 Daewoo airer from Asda.

Prices can also vary day to day and by what deals are on at the time, plus remember you might pay for delivery if you're ordering online.

You can compare prices on platforms like Google Shopping.
