Nadia Bokody bared her armpit fuzz to expose “sexism” and double standards.

The Australian sexpert highlighted the fact that men are allowed to have body hair without being shamed for it.

But in stark contrast, women are expected to have “smooth, hairless skin”.

In a message to her 58,700 followers, Nadia wrote: “Every time I post a pic acknowledging I have hair under my arms (the shock! The horror!) I instantly lose around 200-300 followers. No guesses who they are – men, of course!

“Many of them take the time to generously leave behind some spew face emojis before unfollowing me in protest for daring to exist in my body in a way they are unable to sexualise.

“‘How gross! Think I just threw up in my own mouth!! Ew, doesn’t it SMELL?!!’ they marvel.”

Nadia doesn’t believe women should spend their lives appealing to men,

She argued: “The fact a couple of tufts of hair on a woman can cause so much outcry goes to show just powerful sexist conditioning is around the ways women are expected to appeal to the male gaze.⠀

“Body hair removal products and services play on this, convincing women our bodies are riddled with 'problems' that desperately need 'fixing', in exchange for our self-esteem and money. (See also: diet culture, labiaplasty and The Kardashians.)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“As for the notion smooth, hairless skin is sexy – sure, it can be! And you should rock it if it makes you feel good!

"But celebrating your body just as it is is equally hot, in my book.”

Nadia urged ladies to avoid men that make comments about their body hair.

She also told blokes to unfollow her if they’ve got a problem with women with armpit fuzz.

The relationships expert added: “Any man who shames you for a part of your body – hair, or otherwise – is an insecure douchebag who doesn’t belong within a hundred feet of your p****. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“Incidentally, or in your follower list. Good riddance to all the guys hitting the unfollow button right now!”

Fans appreciated Nadia's candid post.

More than 1,800 people liked it – and many took the time to leave a comment too.

One responder wrote: "This is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring."

Another said: "Your body – your rules."

And a third added: "Brilliant post. The world needs more of this."
