Queen Victoria’s fourth daughter had an unpaid cigarettes bill when she died, new documents have revealed.
Princess Louise owed a tobacconist near Buckingham Palace 15 shillings when she died aged 91 in 1939.
A keen smoker, the princess could have bought 300 Players or woodbines, the most popular brands of the time, the BBC reported.
Details of the princess’ estate were released by The National Archives in Kew.
She left £239,260, 18 shillings and sixpence, worth more than £70m today.
The princess also owned jewellery worth more than £30,000.
