Other ways to clean your rusty iron:

  • Paracetamol is not the only unusual cleaning material which can be used to clean your iron.
  • You can also use a small amount of white toothpaste on any affected areas of your iron soleplate.
  • The next step is to leave the toothpaste to work for a minute before wiping it off with a clean cloth.
  • Fill the iron’s water tank up, cover the iron soleplate with an old towel and then let the iron steam for a few minutes.

You can also clean an iron with waxy paper such as baking paper and salt.

For this cleaning hack, you should set your iron to warm.

Next, you should glide over it with the waxy paper several times in a number of different directions before shaking off the excess salt.

The iron soleplate should then be left extremely clean and shiny.
