The New Moon marks a symbolic finish line for your spiritual life as it marks the end of one lunar cycle and the start of the next. Every month the Moon goes through eight distinct phases, starting with the New Moon briefly disappearing from sight. On the night of the New Moon, the lunar orb’s far side is lit up by the Sun and astrologers believe this can have a profound effect on your life.

In purely astronomical terms, the New Moon will peak on Tuesday evening by about 7.59pm BST.

If you look up tonight, you might still see a very slim sliver – the Waning Crescent Moon.

But the spiritual powers associated with this Taurus Moon should be evident regardless of the Moon’s exact position in relation to our planet and the Sun.

According to astrologer Tom Partridge of, this New Moon focuses on the more ethereal aspects of your life.

Pay attention to your dreams and emotions and you are bound to feel an invigorating boost of energies.

The astrologer said: “The Taurus New Moon on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, is Sextile Neptune.

“So the spiritual meaning of the New Moon May 2021 astrology relates to trusting our intuition and dreaming up a new reality.”

What can you expect from this New Moon this week?

Mr Partridge thinks your dreams have a good chance of coming true, particularly with a little help from a few more planets.

Mercury forms a Trine – a 120-degree angle – with Saturn and that will help materialise your dreams.

Mars, meanwhile, forms a 60-degree Sextile with Uranus and that is going to send a bit of change your way.

Mr Partridge said: “New Moon sextile Neptune heightens your sensitivity, intuition, imagination, and creativity.

“Increased psychic awareness may give you valuable insights about yourself, the people around you, and even about the future.

“So this is an excellent time to visualize or dream up your ideal future.

“Make new goals now to turn your dreams into reality.”

When the New Moon takes shape in your horoscope charts, the Moon and Sun overlap or are in Conjunction.

When this happens, we witness the end of one cycle and the start of another.

According to Mr Partridge, this should fill with a burst of initiative and energy to get things done.

You will also find emotional balance in the things you do but not at the cost of being cold or callous.

It is consequently the perfect time to undertake new projects or overturning a new leaf.

This translates to kicking old habits and behaviours that have a negative impact on your life.

Mr Partridge said: “There are no major fixed stars conjunct this New Moon so the interpretation is fairly straightforward and very positive!”
