The Pisces New Moon will rise at 10.21am on Sunday March 13, but you’ll feel the emotional and psychic energies building up within you in the days leading up to the event. Express.co.uk chatted to Moon Mentor and author of Lunar Living: Working with the Magic of the Moon Cycles to find out the New Moon in Pisces horoscope and which rituals you should use to celebrate it.

A New Moon isn’t visible in the sky, but you’ll definitely feel the energies this Moon wants you to feel.

Pisces is a water sign, so this New Moon is going to force you to listen to your raw, sensitive emotions and find your way through the turmoil to a new beginning.

The Pisces New Moon always falls between February 19 and March 20 and is the last New Moon in an astrological year.

It makes sense that this New Moon is always about closing chapters, starting fresh and creating new goals.

Kirsty said: “This New Moon is the last moon of our current astrological year and it’s working powerfully with the Spring Equinox to pave the way for spring’s new beginnings.

“We are in for an incredibly powerful few weeks over this lunar cycle as this New Moon begins the unravelling process of letting go of what is completed and clearing the space to allow the new to come in.

“This dreamy New Moon is going to give you the ability to vision and dream the future that you want for yourself. It’s going to connect you to your highest wisdom and guidance and soul.

“The Pisces Moon is going to take you to the highest heights of spiritual understanding of your life and show you the bigger picture of your life from your souls’ perspective.

“This moon wants us to create the space for all the new beginnings that are coming. Under this new moon, and for the next few weeks, we are going to be asked to live completely mirroring nature, and just like nature can’t grow anything in the hard, old ground that is filled with weeds, we can’t either.

“This moon in the final stages of the last sign of the zodiac is going to finally bring to a close those things that you have been so ready to close for a long time.”

Four rituals to perform on a Pisces New Moon

This New Moon needs you to clear out your mind and life and make space for the new.

Once you’ve managed to do this, you can move into an exciting new stage of your life.

It’s not always easy to let yourself move forward, but there are a few rituals you can perform to help you along the way.

Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to overcome negative thoughts or patterns in your life.

Setting and repeating these affirmations can help you to believe that what you are saying is true and you will start to make positive changes.

The New Moon is the perfect time to create and repeat affirmations to use throughout the entire upcoming lunar cycle.

Trying to save more money? Set affirmations that you are sensible with money, and repeat the idea that you have everything you need to survive and don’t need to buy more clothes!

In Kirsty’s book, she recommends lighting a candle and repeating your affirmations while you visualise them coming true.

Once you’re finished, blow out your candle and imagine the smoke releasing your dreams into the world!

Journaling

Use the day to reflect on the year that has gone by. What have you accomplished or what have you failed to achieve that you still want to? How can you get back on track?

Kirsty recommends journaling, which involves jotting down your thoughts and emotions, around the following questions:

What feels like it’s unravelling for you right now?

What are you finally ready to let go of? What is no longer serving your soul? How are you ready to allow yourself to expand and grow?

Can you see the lessons and blessings in the difficult times? Can you see how you’ve grown?

Can you allow yourself to believe that everything had a purpose and plan?

Sage

Burning sage is a really useful way to get out of a negative mindset and start fresh.

In her book, Kirsty advises you to use a Palo Santo or sage smudge stick around your home to clean and cleanse your surroundings.

She writes: “Make sure you send the smoke into all the corners of your rooms and feel any old or stuck energy being released.

“You may even repeat to yourself that you are cleaning out the old to welcome in the new.”

Frankincense oil

The New Moon is the ideal time to use frankincense oil to cleanse your aura and energy.

Place a few drops into your palms and rub the oil into your hands. Bring your hands over your nose and deeply inhale.

Kirsty explains in her book: “Run your hands all around the outside of your body, visualising that you are cleaning your emotional and energy bodies of anything that is stagnant or stuck.

“You can do this daily over the waxing cycle.”
