My lover and I promised we'd leave our partners – but he didn't | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY lover and I promised we’d leave our partners. So I told my husband it was over – but my lover stayed with his wife.

We’d been having an affair for more than 20 years. He was my boss. I was his PA.

We are retired now but up until three years ago, we were still having our affair and we planned to travel when we gave up work.

I left my husband in 2020 and he died a year later. We didn’t have a good marriage but his death still affected me.

I’m 66 now and I feel sad and alone. I still love my old boss, who is 71, even though he hurt me so much.

I don’t see him these days. He’s probably doing all those nice things we planned – but with his wife.
