The Brazilian has struggled to make an impact under Jose Mourinho this season following his £52m summer switch from Shakhtar Donetsk.
He went out for a bite to eat with the former Arsenal midfielder – who persuaded Fred to join the Reds in June after talks with Mourinho.
The pair were spotted leaving the plush Piccolino restauraunt in Hale Village just one day after United's 4-1 win.
Both of the stars kept a straight face as they strolled back to the 25-year-old's black Range Rover Velar.
Fred started Saturday's match on the bench before he was introduced to replace Jesse Lingard in the 73rd minute.
He has struggled to break into Mourinho's first-team and he has started just six matches this season.
Fred has been an unused substitute in five of the last eight matches and his last goal came against Wolves in September.
It is reported that Mourinho told Fred he would be part of his "dream" midfield after he made the switch to Old Trafford.
But the United boss confirmed he is reluctant to pick the 25-year-old until his team solve their defensive issues.
When asked about Fred's progress on Friday, he said: "Step by step.
"You also have other players in other clubs that needed their time, and you have some of them that played even less than Fred.
"When the team is defensively stronger and doesn't need people in midfield that are more worried about giving some balance to the team than being involved in creation and attacking dynamics, I think the horizons for Fred change completely."
