Royal fans were delighted after spotting Lady Frederick Windsor in a new trailer for the third season of the hit show Sanditon.
Actress Sophie Winkleman, 42, best known for playing Big Suze in the sitcom Peep Show alongside David Mitchell and Robert Webb, is the wife of Lord Frederick Windsor, the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who is 52nd in line to the throne.
Since the couple tied the knot 13 years ago, mother-of-two Sophie has become a fixture at royal events, and recently joined senior royals at the Duchess of Cambridge’s carol concert at Westminster Abbey.
However she also balances her royal career with her acting jobs – and has now appeared in a new trailer for the latest series of the period drama.
While Sophie’s character, Lady Susan, was a regular fixture in the first season of the show, she did not appear in the second season – leaving many fans delighted she would be returning for the third series.

In the trailer for the new series, which is due to be released in March, she can be seen telling Charlotte: ‘If he is the man to make you truly happy, you should go to him.’
Sophie’s role in Sanditon is one of a number which she has continued since she joined the royal family in 2009.
She also recently appeared in BBC medical drama This is Going to Hurt.
The half-sister of TV presenter Claudia Winkleman – their father was publisher Barry Winkleman – she was educated at the private City of London School for Girls before completing an English degree at the University of Cambridge.
Sophie, who now lives in Chelsea, married Lord Freddie in September 2009 at Hampton Court Palace, after meeting him on a night out in Soho.
The couple spent seven years living in Los Angeles – having moved there the day after their wedding in 2009 for her career.
Her husband worked for his bank, JP Morgan, while she bagged a number of decent roles including Zoey, the girlfriend of Ashton Kutcher’s character Walden in Two And A Half Men.
She also penned screenplays for Salma Hayek and Penélope Cruz.

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina, in August 2013, and daughter, Isabella Alexandra May, was born in January 2016.
The couple moved back to Britain after having their children, as Sophie was keen to be closer to her family.
She had a tough first year of motherhood after catching a hospital bug while giving birth to Isabella, which left her unwell for a year.
Maud and Isabella were among five bridesmaids for her sister-in-law Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston when they wed in May 2019 – having already been in the bridal party for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding the previous October.

Meanwhile, she also joined royals at Kate’s carol concert in December, where she brushed shoulders with Mike and Zara Tindall.
At the end of last year, she wrote a personal piece in The Spectator about joining the royal family and her experience within The Firm.

Elsewhere, Sophie explained how she and her family will be spending Christmas in London, saying: ‘We’ll see my parents on Christmas Day and some of my husband Freddie’s relations in various locations.’
She also revealed how she had been inspired by the late Queen’s Christian faith, adding that it ‘fascinated’ her.
