Judge makes Justin Bieber joke while jailing stalker who broke restraining order

A judge stunned a stalker by mentioning Justin Bieber while sending him to jail.

Ethan Keating had posted a line to his ex from a hit by the Canadian singer that read: “Is it too late now to say sorry?”

But it meant he broke a restraining order and Judge Niclas Parry told him: “I don’t know if Justin Bieber ’s got a song called You’re a Stupid Idiot? I give you three months.”

Keating, 21, had just been freed from jail on Christmas Eve when he contacted his ex within hours through Facebook to quote the line from the star’s song Sorry.

His restraining order banned him from contacting her.

In a victim statement the woman said was “freaked out and really upset” at the message.

Keating of Colwyn Bay, North Wales, admitted two breaches of a restraining order when he appeared at Mold crown court.

He had previously been jailed for 20 months for stalking his former girlfriend and making threats to kill.

Nic Williams, defending, told the court: “The message was a quote from a Justin Bieber love song.

“It was the euphoria of being released and he had been drinking with someone back at his bail hostel. There was no direct contact and it was not threatening or unpleasant.”
