Zara delights fans with its first ever lingerie collection in neutral tones and luxury silk and cashmere – but bras only come in a B cup

Women in search of stylish lingerie that also provides comfort have taken to social media to express their delight after Zara unveiled its first ever lingerie collection.
The Spanish high-street brand debuted ‘The Female Gaze’ collection of lingerie with a series of intimate portraits photographed by Annemarieke Van Drimmelen, which show women documenting their ‘most natural and personal moments’.
And fans were quick to take to Twitter to praise the new release, which claims to deliver sophistication and comfort.
However, others have taken note of the slender models in the campaign and blasted the brand for a lack of diversity – only offering sizes small (32B), medium (34B) and large (36B).

Zara explained the items in the collection have been designed to achieve ‘ultimate comfort’ using luxurious lingerie techniques and high-quality fabrics including silk, alpaca, wool, cotton, mixed with light, airy tulles, for ‘a fluid, ethereal and natural sensuality’.
With prices starting from £5.99, and bras at £15.99, the elegant collection is centred around neutral colours – including black and dark chocolate brown.
Modelled by Edita Vilkeviciute, Karly Loyce and Sara Blomqvist, the items include panties, bras, silk pyjamas, robes, sleeping masks, bodies and scarves.
Zara describes the collection as empowering, saying: ‘It’s yours and yours alone, your secret, your strength; a quiet confident femininity and the most personal expression of your unique beauty and style.
‘Embracing an empowering perspective on the notion of intimacy and your own body, explored through the female gaze.’
‘A parallel femininity is explored through a more ‘everyday’ approach, designed with the intent of being worn from morning through night, in neutral tones of nude, silver grey, soft brown and blush pink, including t-shirts, shirts, knit pieces, cashmere socks and underwear elements.’

A stream of fans have gushed about the collection on Twitter, revealing they’re willing to splurge their money on the designs
Impressed with the announcement, one person enthused: ‘Zara are now doing a lingerie collection, that brand will never set my soul free will it. Fine take my money.’
A second commented: ‘Zara now doing lingerie has made my day, spend up inbound.’
However, others found an issue with Zara’s choice of sizing because the collection is currently only available in a B cup.
One person wrote: ‘Zara definitely missed their mark on sizing with their new lingerie collection. Competing against a brand like Savage X Fenty they definitely have fallen a bit short with catering to a larger diverse market,’ while a second penned:
‘Zara has a new lingerie range with bras in sizes 32B, 34B and 36B so diversity is going GREAT with them just in case you wondered’
A third penned: ‘Zara’s lingerie range looks gorge but s**** size range and looks like it would only fit an A cup.’
