Emmerdale’s Noah Dingle star Jack Downham’s life off screen including age and Amelia Spencer connection

Emmerdale fan favourite Jack Downham has long since cemented his place in our hearts since first joining the cast of Emmerdale back in 2009.

The 21 year old actor who portrays Noah Dingle in the hit ITV soap, has seen Noah endure a large number of nail biting storylines during his time in the Yorkshire village.

Last year, viewers saw Noah sentenced to three months in prison as punishment for stalking his ex-girlfriend Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) and was released early due to good behaviour.

Since then, he has rapidly turned his life around and even taken on the role of a father after agreeing to help girlfriend Amelia Spencer to raise her baby daughter Esther.

The journey to domestic bliss has been far from easy for Noah, as he was even caught up in a bribery storyline when Esther's biological father Samson tried to blackmail him into a cruel bribery plot, with payment exchanged in order for Samson to not assert his parental rights.

Eventually, Samson's plot was rumbled, and Noah was finally able to move on with Amelia and raise Esther alongside her, but things took another dramatic turn in recent weeks, when Amelia's dad Dan Spencer was charged with the GBH (and subsequent manslaughter) of Lloyd, a man who had been stalking Amelia after she tried to launch a social media career.

Knowing that he would be off to prison, Dan and Amelia had prepared to flee the village without telling Samson, a shocking revelation which left the couple reeling when Dan got cold feet and Amelia was forced to admit to her boyfriend she had been prepared to flee without him.

With Dan facing a lengthy prison sentence, Noah invited Amelia to live with him and his mum for some hands on support, but will their relationship survive the move? Or could this spark the beginning of the end?

As Jack gets set to star in another big storyline, we take a look into the actor's life away from the cameras…

Jack was born in September 2001, making him 21 years old. His soap character is actually 19, meaning he is two years older than his on-screen counterpart.

He hails from Leeds, and started acting at a very young age having set his sights on stardom.

Before landing his soap role, Jack starred as Peter Morley in Heartbeat, and he appeared as a background extra in Emmerdale.

The actor landed the role of Noah, Charity Dingle's son, in 2009, and has remained on the soap ever since. In 2010, he portrayed Young Robin in the 2010 film Robin Hood.

Jack tends to keep his personal life out of the spotlight despite his soap stardom, and over the years has only shared a handful of posts on social media.

In one snap, he can be seen beaming with his fellow co-stars when they were younger, including Daisy Campbell who plays Amelia Spencer.

Jack shared the adorable snap, which also features Joe-Warren Plant, back in 2019 in order to mark his 10 year anniversary on Emmerdale.

He wrote: "Doesn't feel like it's been 10 years," with Daisy agreeing, writing: "It feels like yesterday ahah".
