This year has been special astrologically, with meteor showers, multiple Supermoons, a total lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse shining down on us at different points. This weekend we’re going to be greeted by the most important of them all: the Blue Moon. Here’s how this weekend’s ‘betrayal’ Moon will affect you, according to PsychicWorld.com and renowned Mystic and Astrologer Inbaal Honigman.
You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘once in a Blue Moon’, in the context of something that rarely happens.
That’s because a Blue Moon is something that only happens once every two to three years.
A Blue Moon happens when there’s more than one New or Full Moon in a calendar month or when there are more than three in a season.
This summer there are four Full Moons, making this one a Blue Moon.
The Moon does not appear blue when it’s a Blue Moon… so why is it called a Blue Moon?
Well, Inbaal explained: “Its name is believed to have derived from the Old English word ‘to betray’ as it diverges from the typical Luna phase.
“With Full Moons being emotional affairs, this maverick moon will no doubt have an even more powerful impact on our emotions!
“A Blue Moon, in particular, is a time when secrets come to light.
“If the secrets are wonderful and special, like a proposal or a new baby, this can be a deeply romantic moment.
“If the secrets are of the unfaithful kind, they could be detrimental to your partnerships.
“Keep your eyes peeled for any new information during the ‘betrayer’ moon.”
Since the Blue Moon is tightly bound to our emotions and mood, it is important to be aware of how this rare Moon will impact you so you can navigate it.
How this weekend’s ‘betrayal’ Moon will affect YOU
During every Full Moon, we typically experience heightened sensitivity.
If not channelled correctly, the heightened sensitivity can make you feel fatigued and over-emotional.
However, Inbaal said: “if you embrace the waves of this Luna phase, you will find greater scope for spirituality and healing during this time.
“Your imagination and dreams will be more vivid, making it a great time for manifestation whilst your cognitive ability is at its peak.”
The Full Moon on Sunday is happening in Aquarius for the second time in a row while the Sun is in Leo.
Inbaal said: “These powerful and charismatic signs will add fuel to your manifestations.
“With the Sun in Leo, our inner showman will come out to play under the Blue Moon.
“Get ready for your last spontaneous weekend of fun as the Sun is to make a quick transition into organized Virgo, meaning that the frivolity of summer will start to give way to the steadfastness of autumn.”
The Full Moon will be in Aquarius, a humanitarian zodiac sign, and so we will be feeling more generous towards those less fortunate than ourselves, and perhaps even more willing to take back that difficult ex!
Inbaal said: “With both romantic and platonic relationships, you will have an urge to give and assist which can strengthen relationships in your life.
“This is the second full moon in Aquarius in a row (normally you wait a year between them), so you may start to feel quite exasperated by your own good nature!”
On the Blue Moon, you should do lots of thinking and introspection.
Inbaal recommended: “Think about what you’d like to do with your life.
“Whether it’s moving abroad, starting a business or something else, now is the time to start planning!”
The psychic recommends charging citrine crystals under the Blue Moon because this is the crystal of choice for “manifesting abundance and prosperity”.
