Toothpaste is for more than just cleaning your teeth – expert reveals what useful tasks you can use it for

It TURNS out that toothpaste isn’t just for cleaning your teeth.

It can be used to clean multiple items around the house and make them look brand new.

Cleaning expert and author Lynsey Crombie shared her toothpaste hacks in a video that showed toothpaste being used to make various household items sparkle.

Her first tip showed a “blob” of toothpaste being rubbed onto an iron with a cloth to remove brown spots.

Lynsey’s second tip utilized a scrub brush to scrub a mixture of toothpaste and water over dirty sneakers.

The end result showed the sneakers looking nearly new.

Similar to removing brown spots from the iron, the cleaning expert’s third hack used a rag and toothpaste to remove watermarks from silver cutlery.

And last but not least, Lynsey used a scrub brush to make a stainless steel sink shine like it’s new.

Lynsey did not specify what brand of toothpaste she prefers, but it’s safe to assume most would work considering toothpaste generally has the same basic ingredients.

Toothpaste isn’t the only abnormal item that has been used to clean various surfaces.

Another woman named Lindsey shared with the internet that she places lemon peels in her dishwasher, which in her opinion, leaves glasses sparkling clean every time.

"Just put them into your dishwasher and your glasses will be lovely and shiny," she explained.

Another person posted a video of herself pouring fabric softener into her toilet tank in order to make it smell super fresh.
