THERE are few things more satisfying than settling down on the sofa with a lit candle and a good film to watch.

But there's no denying that at £16, Yankee candles don't come cheap.

Well, if you don't want to fork out this time around, we've got good news for you!

Shoppers have been sent into a frenzy after spotting 538g sized Yankee Candle Jars at a hugely discounted price in their local Sainsbury's.

One successful bargain hunter took to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and penned: "538g sized Yankee Candle Jars.

"Christmas scented ones reduced to £1.60 in Sainsbury's Alder hills."

The thrilled shopper continued: "They had three different fragrances reindeer cookie, Cinnamon delight and the holiday magic.

"I used the self scanner to check and they were £1.60 each."

The larger-sized Yankee candles usually retail at the rather hefty price of £16, giving shoppers a total saving of an impressive £14.40.

The post quickly racked up hundreds of views and many comments from social media users up and down the country.

However, while some told how they wereeager to get their hands on the cut-price candles, others expressed their disappointment at never spotting the bargain first.

"I’d have cleared the shelf," joked one.
