Paul Arnhold’s glass line launches on Moda Operandi

Paul Arnhold’s candy-colored handblown glass pieces have been a cult hit for years — beloved by everyone from his friend Martha Stewart (she has a purple bowl) to Moda Operandi’s Lauren Santo Domingo. Now, they’re available for the masses on Santo Domingo’s site (as well as his own).

Arnhold — who balances a full-time real estate job with his creative work — says he has his husband, Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon, to thank for getting him back into his childhood passion. “On my first date with Wes, somehow glass blowing came up, and he got me a lesson in Red Hook with an artist, and I’ve been going back ever since.”

“People love the bright colors: the opaque reds and oranges and blues and greens,” he says of his pieces, which range from $200 to $925.

While there’s no Paul Arnhold x Carolina Herrera collab in the pipeline, the couple are happy to co-exist as makers.

“We’re having so much fun,” said Arnhold. “When that launched, I said, ‘Can you believe we both have a trunk show on Moda at the same time? Did you ever think that would happen?’”

Talk about doubling down.
