The Queen spends every summer in Balmoral Castle, as it is her official summer residence in the Scottish highlands. Queen Elizabeth dazzled in a bright pink coat which she wore over a stunning floral dress.
She wore a matching fuchsia hat to match with an elaborate flower attached, as well as sturdy black shoes and her signature black handbag.
Royal fans on social media thought the Queen looked wonderful and they were happy to see Her Majesty looking so well.
One fan wrote: “Our gracious Queen!
“Stunning pictures – what a smile.”
Another agreed, saying: “So happy to see her.
“She looks like a ray of sunshine!”
A royal watcher noted: “Lovely to see her back in Scotland, looking happy and relaxed.
“Beautiful outfit as usual and winning smile.”
Queen Elizabeth accessorised the outfit with a magnificent brooch in the shape of an ‘X’ which symbolises her love for Scotland.
The Scottish flag has a white ‘X’ on a blue background, and the Queen showed her appreciation for the country through her jewellery.
She also wore beautiful pearl necklaces to tie the outfit together.
Last year, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh spent six weeks on the 50,000-acre royal estate.
However, it was different from usual, as they had to form a bubble with staff and could not really entertain.
However, the Queen looked delighted today to receive such an exciting welcome after what was a very sad year for the Queen.
Her Majesty and Prince Philip had previously isolated together at Windsor Castle for months during the first lockdown in 2020.
Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, are all expected to visit Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral this summer.
Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, as well as Prince Edward and Countess Sophie are also all likely to be there.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip often called Balmoral their “happy place” and spent every summer there throughout their 73-year marriage.
The last time Queen Elizabeth was at Balmoral without Prince Philip was when she herself was a princess.
It holds a special place in the Queen’s heart as it is the castle where Prince Philip proposed to her.
