New Balance‘s popular 327 is staking a strong claim as one of 2020’s best new silhouettes thanks to well-made collaborations and appealing in-line styles alike. Now, the latter group is gaining two new members: “Turtledove/Munsell White” and “Black/Castlerock” colorways. One may be crisp while the other is stark, but both offer effortless simplicity, an interesting shape and a palatable price point — features that have helped make the 327 so popular during its inaugural year on the market.
Both pairs embellish a smooth nylon base with slightly shaggy suede overlays. “Turtledove/Munsell White” mixes an ever-so-soft gray shade with tan, and “Black/Castlerock” blends an earthy steel gray with black. Each uses bright silver on the midfoot’s N logos while adding further branded embellishment by way of debossed spellout graphics on the medial heel plus red NB tags on the tongue. Both pairs also boast a white EVA foam midsole that’s thin towards the heel and midfoot, yet significantly wider on the forefoot. Nubbed gum outsoles provide a finishing touch of retro flair.
The New Balance 327 “Turtledove/Munsell White” and “Black/Castlerock” are both available on the New Balance webstore now, and each pair retails for $90 USD.
