Meghan and Harry latest – Fans spot MAJOR clue couple are about to ditch royal titles as Spotify speech is ridiculed

ROYAL fans have spotted what they believe is a MAJOR clue Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to ditch their royal titles.

In a bizarre two minute audio statement yesterday the couple announced they'd signed a deal with Spotify to create exclusive podcasts.

But keen-eared fans noticed that the pair refused to use their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, instead introducing themselves as simply "Meghan" and "Harry".

It comes ahead of their crunch meeting with the Queen in March, where the pair will hash-out the long-term implications of Megxit and whether they will be stripped of their royal titles.

Meanwhile Harry and Meghan's Spotify announcement was roundly mocked on social media as users branded their speech a "woke word salad".

The multi-millionaire couple's faux-awkward recording tried achingly hard to be informal and down-to-earth while ticking all the cheesy "woke" boxes the couple are fast becoming notorious for using.

What's more, a friend of the couple's said they had achieved more than they ever thought possible this year – having moved into their £11m "forever" home in California and signing a Netflix deal reportedly worth £112m.

They added: "[Harry and Meghan] actually feel excited about the potential and standing on their own two feet."

Omid Scobie – who co-authored the biography Finding Freedom – said 2021 will be a hugely important year for the Duke and Duchess as they launch their foundation Archewell.

"We’ll see the fruits of their labour— Archewell, Netflix," he added. "I think it’s the year we will get to see what their legacy will be."

    RECAP – MARK MADE

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "will be seen more in 2021" but will shun the traditional role as "working royals", an insider has claimed.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, sources close to the couple said Meghan and Harry are "optimistic and excited" for the future after a "rollercoaster" year.

Discussing what 2021 has in store for the couple, the insider claimed: "We will see more of them and in a different way to how we saw them as working royals.

"It will be more in line with who they are and the way they want to operate from now on."

His co-host Susanna Reid then pointed out Piers has been sending his new book to celebrity pals to push out on social media.

"That's why I'm absolutely not making judgment, except one thing…", said Piers.

"I'm not a royal am I? We criticise Peter Phillips for flogging milk in China.

"Is she or is she not a royal? Is she under different guidelines. If you are completely detached then you can do anything you like. I

"I'm not passing judgement on the cynical commercial transactional element of all this…

"You think she can do little wrong, I think she can do little right.

    'LOAD OF OLD TWADDLE'

PIERS Morgan has called Meghan Markle's investment in a £21 vegan chai latte a "load of old twaddle".

The 55-year-old struggled to hold back as he gave his outspoken view of the Duchess of Sussex's latest career move.

She sent close pal Oprah a hamper after putting money into start-up brandClevr Blends, which makes 'superlattes' in powder form.

"It's a load of old twaddle," ranted Piers on Good Morning Britain.

"This is how celebrity works. She decides to invest in this vegan latte business because she likes it.

"She sends a load to her friend Oprah, who is fantastic, and she then drinks it on her show – massively increasing the value of the latte.

"Good luck to them right. Meghan has made millions by sending that parcel to Oprah after she just invested in the company and Meghan makes a lot of money."

    WHAT WAS THE TRAILER ABOUT?

In the trailer for the podcast, Harry says: "Shall we start? Ladies first?"

A giggling Meghan replies, telling her husband: "No, say it because I think it sounds really nice with your accent."

Prince Harry then says: "Hi guys, I'm Harry" before Meghan adds: "And I'm Meghan" – with the pair choosing not to use their royal titles.

Meghan, 39, then says with a more serious tone: “One of the things my husband and I have always talked about is our passion for meeting people and hearing their stories.

“And no matter what the story they usually offer an understanding of where someone else is coming from and, in some way, remind you of a story about yourself.”

Harry, 36, added: “And that is what this story is all about.

“To bring forward different perspectives and voices that perhaps you haven’t heard before and find our common ground.

“Because when that happens change really is possible.”

    HEIRWAVES

Harry and Meghan have landed a £30million deal with Spotify for their own podcast – adding to their £100million Netflix win.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex giggled about having “podcast voices” and even hummed Christmas songs during a heavily scripted three-minute trailer.

The Archewell Audio podcast, which begins later this month, is the pair’s latest lucrative deal since they split from the Royal Family and vowed to become financially independent.

One insider said: “Meghan was the driving force behind it. The initial multi-year deal is worth in excess of £30million with a view to extending it within six months.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have today launched their own podcast for Spotify.

The couple will begin their series with a holiday special that will be released later this month.

In a statement, the Sussexes said: “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction.

“With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”

MEGHAN’S FIRST CHRISTMAS PRESENT OT THE QUEEN ‘MAULED TO PIECES’ BY CORGIS

For her first Christmas with the Royal Family, Meghan Markle reportedly bough the Queen a singing toy hamster – which she loved.

The Daily Star reported in 2018: “Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty.”

While it might sound quirky, the hilarious present was a hit with Her Majesty – who allegedly said: “It can keep my dogs’ company.”

Sadly though, the hamster reportedly didn’t last long and the paper reported that Meghan’s toy hamster was “mauled to pieces” by the Queen’s corgis before the end of the holiday.

MEGHAN ‘GAVE HARRY THE CONFIDENCE TO DRIVE THROUGH MEGXIT’

Meghan Markle “gave Prince Harry the confidence to drive through Megxit” and they are now “stronger than ever”, a royal author has claimed.

Speaking to Ok! magazine, Omid Scobie – who co-authored the bombshell biography Finding Freedom – claimed Prince Harry was the driving force behind their decision to step down as senior working members of the Royal Family.

“I think once Meghan is committed to something, there is no turning back,” Omid argued. “And if Harry had said, ‘We’re sticking it out for another year,’ then Meghan would have definitely ridden it out longer if he’d wanted to.”

Although the royal expert claims Prince Harry “very much drove the decision”, he added: “I would say she gave him the confidence to see that decision through.”

However, the royal correspondent – who was one of the few journalists given details of the couple’s video call with Archie to the Queen on her 94th birthday – says Harry and Meghan’s relationship is stronger as a result of Megxit.

He added: “Now they’re stronger than ever because of what they’ve experienced. I think their love for each other grows the more they take on.”

THE BROTHERLY TRADITION HARRY AND WILLIAM WILL MISS THIS CHRISTMAS

The coronavirus crisis has played havoc with all our Christmas plans this year – including the Royals’.

Usually, the Royal Family spend Christmas at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk – and Prince Harry and Prince William would reportedly always challenge the staff to a cheeky game of footie.

In Channel 4’s A Very Royal Christmas: Sandringham Secrets, the narrator claims: “Until recently, Harry and William had their own Christmas traditions at Sandringham — their annual kickabout, royals versus staff.”

Royal expert Richard Kay said: “Harry and William, when they were teenagers were enormously competitive, you know they didn’t hold back.

“They would chop each other down if they were going for the ball together.”

MEGHAN MARKLE PARTIES WITH LIZZIE CUNDY IN NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN SNAP FROM 2016

Meghan Markle is now one of the most recognised stars worldwide but just four years ago she was pictured “climbing the ladder” at a high society party.

The then-Suits actress partied with Lizzie Cundy and Phones4U WAG Claire Caudwell at Claire’s pad in Mayfair in a never-before-seen snap.

Meghan can be seen in a silk, one-shoulder dress, wearing her trademark brunette locks down.

At the party, Lizzie and Claire reportedly attempted to find the American actress a “famous British man” to date after the breakdown of her marriage to TV producer Trevor Engelson.

At the time, the actress was relatively unknown in the UK, apart from those who knew her as Rachel Zane in the Netflix legal drama.

    CHARLES' NICKNAME FOR MEGHAN

The future king is said to call his daughter-in-law Tungsten, inspired by the tough metal known for its robustness and strength.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the nickname came from Meghan's strength and determination – said to have impressed Prince Charles.

A source told the news outlet: “Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy.

“It’s become a term of endearment.”

‘2020 HAS BEEN A ROLLERCOASTER FOR MEGHAN AND HARRY’, INSIDER CLAIMS

Speaking to Vanity Fair, one of Harry and Meghan’s close friends said: “It’s been a big year for sure and one that has been a rollercoaster.

“2020 has seen them leave the royal family, leave Britain and move to LA to their dream home where they are finally able to lay down new roots.”

Last month, Meghan Markle revealed she had tragically miscarried her second child in a deeply personal essay for The New York Times.

Royal expert Omid Scobie added: “They have had to go up against a lot—the press, their legal battles and even the institution of the monarchy—but they’ve remained positive and it’s the support they give each other and their focus on what’s important that gets them through.”

    MEGHAN GOT ‘EVERYTHING SHE WANTED’

Royal expert Howard Hodgson has claimed Meghan Markle always intended to return to the US and got “everything she wanted” through Megxit.

Speaking to The Express, he said: “Meghan was very determined, had been advancing her career, was a minor star before she met a royal prince, married a royal prince, stayed as long as is decent in the country she didn’t want to be in doing jobs she didn’t want to do.

“Then there was a short trip to Canada, which was only very short because it was then going to get her back to exactly where she wanted — where she now is, and doing what she wants to do.”

Arguing that history is repeating itself, the expert added: “Harry is just being dragged along and will probably, if he’s not very careful, end up with the senselessly sad life that was that of the Duke of Windsor.”
