Kate’s favourite perfume costs £110 – but Grace Kelly’s was pricier

The male and female members of the Royal Family all reportedly wear their preferred scent. This includes King Charles, 74, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle, both 41.

A comforting, pleasant, floral aroma, Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom, is reportedly Kate Middleton’s favourite scent, worth £110.

This orange blossom fragrance has been a favourite of the Princess of Wales for a while.

She also selected this specific scent for the candles in the reception area of her April 2011 wedding.

In addition, members of foreign Royal Families such as Grace Kelly, the late Princess of Monaco, loved perfume.

A scent from Creed, a favourite of the Royal Family since 1780, was famously used by Grace Kelly to wed Prince Rainier of Monaco.

In reality, the £664.95 “Fleurissimo Fragrance” by Creed had been ordered by her future husband as a wedding present for his bride. The perfume is said to smell like Bulgarian rose, tuberose, violet, and iris.

Another royal that loved to wear perfume was the late Princess Diana.

One of the disclosures in Prince Harry’s biography, Spare, which was published in January 2023, was that his mother, Princess Diana, wore her favourite scent, First by Van Cleef & Arpels, which costs £48.95.

It includes a lot of floral notes, including hyacinth, rose, and jasmine. Additionally, this perfume features woodsy aromas like sandalwood and amber.

This created a distinct scent that her youngest child can still recall.

The late Queen’s preferred perfumes have never been discussed in public by Buckingham Palace.

Several options, including White Rose by Floris which costs £80, have been suggested by royal experts.

The 1730-founded perfume house is a well-known brand in the UK. According to Harper Bazaar, Elizabeth II selected this distinctive flower scent for her wedding day.

The daughters-in-law of King Charles III appear to select their perfumes based on similar standards.

This is because Meghan Markle’s go-to scent is Wild Bluebell, also by Jo Malone, which costs £110.

This scent, which has notes of bluebell, persimmon, and white musk, is said to be “fresh and enchanting”.

King Charles’s favourite scent was also discovered in Prince Harry’s biography: Christian Dior’s Eau Sauvage, which costs £97 for a 100 ml bottle.

The Duke of Sussex wrote: “He was always sniffing things. Food, roses, our hair, maybe he was taking all these long breaths because it was hard to smell anything other than his personal perfume.

“Eau Sauvage [by Dior]. He would put it on his cheeks, his neck, his shirt.

“Floral, with a hint of something harsh, like pepper or gunpowder, it was made in Paris. It’s written on the bottle.”
