SHE wanted a skinny French manicure, so booked an appointment online.

Janelle was told when she booked that her manicure was estimated to be around $50 to $60 (£39 to £47).

But when she got to the till, she was informed that her total was $170 (£132).

And, to top it all off, the manicure was worlds away from what she actually wanted.

Janelle recalled the story in a video on her TikTok page, as she explained that when she walked into the salon, they ignored her request not to do a dip.

They then started putting various masks on her, at which point Janelle was thinking: "What is happening right now? I just needed a simple gel French tip."

And despite showing them an "inspo" picture, she ended up getting a much chunkier look than she actually wanted.

"I could have done a better job at home," she raged.

Then it was time to pay.

"I literally walk up to the register and I'm just trying to be really nice even though I hate it. But I'm like, it's okay, it's fine," she said.

"And then she's like, 'Okay, that'll be $170'.

"And I was like, in what world? Did you paint gold on my nails?

"I got so played.

"I'm not confrontational so I couldn't say anything so I paid and now I've spent $170 on a mani that I literally hate."

Concluding, Janelle sighed: "Wow, this sucks."

"Girl we gotta stop the people pleasing…they probably sense they can play you and you just agreed to everything," one person commented on Janelle's video.

To which she replied: "Trust me, me and my therapist are working on it."

"This is robbery sis," another raged.

As someone else wrote: "Guuuurl why did you even pay lmao. I would have said no way."
