Michelle Obama shocked her audience during a talk in NYC to promote her new memoir ‘Becoming’.

Obama talked about various topics including women’s ability to maintain equal marriage while climbing the corporate ladder.

Describing it as ‘the whole’ she said: “So, you can have it all.

“That’s a lie. And it’s not always enough to lean in, because that s*** doesn’t work all the time.”

‘Lean in’ is the phrase that was made popular by Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.

Her self-titled book was a best seller whose aim was to empower women in the workplace.

The book ignited a discussion about the challenges faced by women wit regard to pay and discrimination.

Michelle Obama’s use of the four-letter word ‘s***’ sent the assembled crowd into a frenzy at Barclays Center.
