Megan Fox may have a whirlwind romance with Machine Gun Kelly, but she’s not afraid to show the rapper and actor who’s boss—at least on the big screen. In an exclusive clip of the upcoming crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass provided to Collider, Fox takes down her real-life lover after MGK’s character lets loose some seriously sexist smack talk. And she has some pretty serious crime-fighting moves.
Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (real name: Colson Baker) actually met during the filming of Midnight in the Switchgrass back in March 2020. Though filming was soon postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, nothing slowed down the pair’s intense romance. The relationship was first confirmed by MGK in June 2020 after much media speculation.
Midnight in the Switchgrass is an upcoming “gritty and intense” crime thriller, starring Fox and Bruce Willis as undercover FBI agents.
“While in Florida on another case, FBI agents Helter (Willis) and Lombardo (Fox) cross paths with state cop Crawford (Emile Hirsch) who’s investigating a string of female murders that appear to be related,” the official synopsis from Lionsgate reads. “Lombardo and Crawford team up for an undercover sting, but it goes horribly wrong, plunging Lombardo into grave danger and pitting Crawford against a serial killer in a twisted game of cat and mouse.”
The film will be available in select theaters and on Apple TV on July 23 before coming to Blu-Ray and DVD on July 27. You can watch the full trailer here.
