Tisha Campbell-Martin Claims Her Husband Duane Martin Was Very Abusive

Last year Tisha Campbell-Martin and her husband Duane Martin announced they were getting a divorce around the same time a rumored Martin reboot was on the horizon. The damn reboot never happened, which you would think is the saddest part of this story, but unfortunately it gets worse. According to Tisha, one of the reasons she’s getting a divorce is because Duane can’t keep his hands to himself. In fact, he’s been physically and verbally abusing her since they got married in 1996.

TMZ reports that Duane, who has always come off like a deeply discounted Will Smith impersonator to me, is not a very nice guy at all, allegedly. Tisha filed a restraining order against Duane, and in the documents, says he’s been abusing her for their entire marriage including punching her in the chest. Tisha claims that as recent as last month, Duane grabbed her by the arm to pull her into the bedroom. Also, he’s repeatedly criticized Tisha during their marriage by saying her weight was the reason that she couldn’t book roles. If any of this is true I wish I could have been there with my phone to pull up his IMDB and remind him of the time he was in a movie called The Seat Filler, then I’d say some slick shit like “Isn’t that what you do for Will at the events he doesn’t care about?”

Tisha says she’s  100% ready to fight back, because she’s tired of living with this secret any longer.

As for why she’s speaking now … Tisha says, “I can no longer live in fear of retaliation … the need [to] press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.”

A judge has now granted Tisha the temporary restraining order, which requires Duane to stay at least 100 yards away from her.

Page Six tried to get a response from Duane Martin about this, but their call wasn’t returned.

Hopefully once the divorce is final Tisha’s career will blow up while Duane is relegated to either Depends ads or Pay Day Loan commercials that come on during judge TV shows.
