Royal fans are in for a surprise when they search Heart of Invictus on Netflix

Heart of Invictus official trailer

The Duke of Sussex released a new trailer for his Heart of Invictus documentary yesterday as he prepares for the games to kick off next month.

Netflix has since tweeted a trailer for the limited series, which features Prince Harry on stage at the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014.

It didn’t take royal fans long to search Netflix for the upcoming documentary but were surprised by what they found in the top suggestions.

Twitter account @Gertsroyals shared a post online revealing her search results, explaining: “Some interesting ‘Top Results’ when I searched ‘Heart of Invictus’ on my Netflix app.

“Netflix’s target audience doesn’t seem to be people interested in inspirational sports documentaries/ films, but rather people interested in the Royals or pop culture.”

The top results included: Suits, Harry & Meghan, The Empress, Heart of Stone, and Live to Lead.

Harry’s wife Meghan Markle starred in Suits for seven seasons, with her last episode airing in April 2018, a month before her wedding at Windsor Castle.

Speaking about the decision to depart in his book Spare, Harry wrote: “Meg packed up her house, gave up her role in Suits. After seven seasons.

“A difficult moment for her, because she loved that show, loved the character she was playing, loved her cast and crew—loved Canada.”

Suits was added to the streaming giant earlier this year and has been an unlikely hit in the top 10 this summer.

The official line on why the show was axed was unclear, but the series has lost viewers after Meghan quit and has been given a new lease of life after its addition to Netflix.

In the trailer for Heart of Invictus, released yesterday, Prince Harry said: “It is here at Invictus Games that you realise – whatever you carry was the springboard that propelled you to the next level.

“The Games doesn’t focus on what causes the injury but the recovery and how to be part of a community again.”

The documentary, set to be released on August 30, will follow veterans as they prepare for the long-awaited games.

It is being released as part of the Sussexes’ £80 million deal with Netflix, which recently paid £3 million for the film rights to a romantic novel that the couple will help produce.

The film rights have been purchased for Carley Fortune’s book The Meet Me At the Lake, with it coming after the couple lost their £18 million deal with Spotify after one series of Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes.
