Ronnie Ortiz-Magro will now face only five charges in his domestic violence case with ex, Jen Harley, after two charges were dropped this week.
The charges dropped against the “Jersey Shore” star were for brandishing a weapon and criminal threats, according to TMZ.
Ortiz-Magro’s attorney, Scott Leemon, told Page Six that the “facts and circumstances relating to the arrest and charging of Ronnie were exaggerated and factually incorrect.”
“Now, after further investigation, the City’s Attorney agreed with us and dismissed two of the pending charges against Ronnie,” he added. “They agreed that these allegations were baseless and made up. We are hoping further investigation will yield similar results.”
Page Six has reached out to Harley’s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, for comment following this latest decision.
In October, Ortiz-Magro, 34, was arrested for allegedly striking Harley, chasing her with a knife, and resisting arrest. He was subsequently charged with seven misdemeanor charges. With two of the charges now dismissed, Ortiz-Magro still faces charges of domestic violence, child endangerment, false imprisonment and two counts of resisting arrest.
In January, the pair were involved in a separate domestic violence incident. However, Harley was allegedly the aggressor in this fight.
Bloom told us exclusively at the time, “We will fight for Jenn’s rights in court, because she is a domestic violence victim and we will win.”
The exes appeared to split for good in September of last year after a contentious on-again, off-again relationship. They share a 1-year-old daughter, Ariana Sky.
