Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Forks, Washington, anymore. Even better, we’re in a world where Robert Pattinson has escaped the Twilight spotlight and is now a serious film ~acteur~ who stars in ~films,~ not movies, mmkay. His latest cinematic pursuit is The Lighthouse. TBH, the jury is still out on WTF this movie is about, but what I do know is that his first day on the job involved an intense masturbation session. (Actually, this very well may be a Twilight fan fiction.)
Talking to the New York Times, Robert said the “ferocious masturbation scene” was exhilarating to film. He took the paper through his thought process at the time and said:
Edward Cullen is out here making history, people! If you don’t believe Robert, take it from the film’s director Eggers, who previously said Pattinson “really, really went for it” and his masturbation performance was “inspiring.”
It’s interesting that nobody really prompted Robert to go for it the way he did, but I guess that’s what they call acting. Also, this is hardly his first rodeo. In fact, it’s his fourth. From movies like this one to High Life, Damsel, and The Devil All the Time, Robert has now masturbated in four films. He told Variety, “I keep masturbating. In the last three or four movies, I’ve got a masturbation scene…I only realized when I did it the fourth time.”
Robert gave no indications of stopping his onscreen roll, so I guess we’ll all just stay tuned.
