R. Kelly Channels Removed From YouTube After Conviction

R. Kelly‘s official channels on YouTube have been permanently removed just days after the disgraced R&B artist was found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking.

YouTube on Tuesday, October 5, pulled two channels– RKellyTV and RkellyVevo– connected to Kelly’s content. The channels were removed based on YouTube‘s creator responsibility guidelines.

According to those guidelines, the streaming giant can terminate a creator’s channels if they’re accused of a very egregious crime and if the content is closely related to the crimes, or should the creator be convicted or plead guilty.

R. Kelly will also be restricted from using, owning, or creating any other YouTube channels going forward.

Last month, the singer was convicted on all nine counts against him, including racketeering and sex trafficking. He faces 10 years to life in prison at his sentencing, which is scheduled for May 4, 2022.

A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for about nine hours across two days before reaching their unanimous verdict.
