New Video Shows The Band Playing ‘Up On Cripple Creek’ On ‘Ed Sullivan’

The Band‘s performance of “Up on Cripple Creek” on “The Ed Sullivan Show” has been uploaded to the classic variety show’s YouTube channel.

The Band performed “Up On Cripple Creek” on “The Ed Sullivan Show” on November 2, 1969. The act were on the show to promote their self-titled album, which had released two months prior.

In the performance, Levon Helm takes the lead on vocals, with Robbie Robertson, Richard Manuel, and Rick Danko backing him.

Meanwhile, Robertson recently revealed that he is working with director Martin Scorsese to provide the score for the director’s upcoming film, Killers Of The Flower Moon.
