Monty Don has been entertaining viewers with his extensive horticultural knowledge on Gardeners’ World for the past nine years, after making his return. The BBC presenter regularly updates fans about his life and love of gardening on Twitter.
The 65-year-old regularly interacts with fans on the micro-blogging site and it was no different when he recently addressed a viewer who called him out for not getting back to them about an enquiry.
The person in question asked Monty if their query could be passed onto the Gardener’s World team.
They penned: “@TheMontyDon I see you don’t answer gardening queries by Twitter… fair enough.
“Can Gardeners’ World include your instructions and methods on their website.
“They often don’t match and I’m floundering. Hydrangea cuttings especially! Cheers!”
Monty replied telling the person in question he would “pass the message” onto the team about updating his gardening methods on the website which he has “nothing to do with”.
In view of his 196,000 Twitter followers, the gardening expert replied: “I am sure they could.
“I have nothing to do with it but will pass the message on.”
Monty has been keeping Britons – in desperate need of some gardening tips – entertained during the coronavirus lockdown.
The BBC’s long-running TV series Gardeners’ World has seen some of its highest ratings in a decade during lockdown, as people have been forced to spend more time at home.
Earlier this year, Monty shot footage from his garden, with the series drawing an audience of 2.7 million, their highest ratings in a decade, according to MailOnline.
During filming, the production team remained socially distanced as they communicated with Monty through a walkie-talkie.

The show bosses are planning to air Gardeners’ World each week until October after putting safety measures in place to produce the show while sticking to social distancing rules.
Monty previously told the Daily Mail it was “odd” doing a day’s filming “without another human being in sight” but it was being done in a “highly professional” way.
Meanwhile, the presenter recently stunned his fans after he took to Instagram and showcased his 27-year garden transformation.
Monty’s social media snap, which he shared with his 605,000 followers, showcased four well established trees in his stunning garden at home.
The tall trees were surrounded by neatly trimmed hedges and captured numerous shades of green as summer draws to a close.
A second snap showed the mature tree canopies reaching high into the sky.
The gardening enthusiast told fans he was “amazed” to think that almost three decades ago, they were small enough to fit in the palm of his hand.
He captioned the photo: “Sometimes I am amazed to think that 27 years ago I planted these trees – each small enough to carry in one hand.”
Gardeners’ World airs tonight on BBC Two at 8pm.
