Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones dubbed ‘ultimate couple goals’ at 2021 Emmys

Michael Douglas, 76, and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 51, have been branded “couple goals” as the acting duo graced the Primetime Emmy Awards 2021 red carpet on Sunday evening. The pair looked elegant as they posed for the cameras, with Catherine sporting a red trailing gown in the colour some of her fans predicted.

The A-list couple attended the annual ceremony hand in hand, as they are both set to present Emmys to the winning nominee in their category.

The Welsh star looked the epitome of glamour as she posed on the limited red carpet in the scarlet gown.

The chiffon garment boasted a thigh split with a lengthy train, which she paired with matching stiletto heels.

She chose silver accessories, with a stunning diamond necklace and earrings that accentuated her collarbones.

Michael, whose show The Kominsky Method on Netflix is up for best Comedy Series, opted for a classy black suit with purple tie as he posed next to his wife of 21 years.

Ahead of the show on Sunday evening, both he and Catherine took to their Instagram accounts to share their Emmys prep.

Sat on an airplane, the actor informed his fans he was headed to the 73rd show with a quick video for proof.

Catherine also shared some of her past awards show looks over the years.

Taking to Instagram, the brunette beauty reposted snaps of her at various annual ceremonies, ranging from one of her first attendances to recent years.

In one, she donned a baby pink slip dress, with a lace bustier and hem detailing.

The second was taken at last year’s Golden Globes, where she stunned in a red, sleeveless ballgown.

In the third she honoured her glitzy gold Oscars dress, which featured eye-catching embroidery from the torso down to the sheer fishtail train.

Her final snap saw her pose in pink; an elegant dress with a daring thigh split equipped with mesh detailing and chiffon overlays, while a ruffle train flowed dramatically around her feet.

Alongside the photos, she penned: “A few of my favorite looks over the years…

“What color do you think I wear tonight? #Emmys2021.”

Fans rushed to the comments section to share their guesses as to what colour she would be wearing at the ceremony, which saw varied opinions among her followers.

One said: “Red!!! Red is your colour.”

“I think green… will really bring out your eyes!” another suggested.

A third penned: “I wonder if gold will make a comeback?”

Whole a fourth wanted to see her in a black ensemble.
