Martin Kemp and his wife Shirlie married in 1988, meaning the sweet couple, who are the parents of radio and TV star Roman Kemp, have been man and wife for over 30 years.
When asked what the magic recipe is for a marriage that spans decades, Martin told OK! that, quite simply, friendship is key.
"Shirlie and I met each other very young, and the key to a long lasting relationship really is true friendship. Shirlie really is my best friend," the 60 year old explained.
Martin continued to sweetly tell us that spending any time with his wife Shirlie is "like a date night," when asked what they do to keep the spark alive.
Spandau Ballet star Martin said of their date nights: "We do date nights without even thinking about it – we love enjoying each other’s time over a takeaway on a Friday night in, or going to the cinema.
"We like to keep it simple and spending any time with Shirlie is like date night!"
The star detailed that the most romantic thing he'd done for Shirlie occurred on their 35th wedding anniversary.
As it was the year of the pearl, the TV star surprised his other half with an "amazing gift."
Martin explained: "You may not know this but Shirlie is a huge Doris Day fan, so as a surprise I got her some pearls that Doris Day owned which was a pretty special present."
Despite spending a lot of time together during lockdown, Martin coined himself as "lucky" to have had his wife by his side during it.
"The third lockdown last winter was really tough but we got through it and Shirlie and I had each other. We were very lucky to be able to spend more time together," the star added.
The couple live in a stunning home in Hertfordshire with a magical garden.
The cabinets in the office are white, and a huge range of books line the space and a stylish green vase sits on one of the shelves.
Shirlie is a huge fan of anything floral, and moving through to the bathroom you’ll find quite the space.
Shirlie shared a snap of the beautiful room with rose petals scattered in and around the tub, while writing to her Instagram followers: “Slipping into a warm bath sprinkled with rose petals and my favourite @Diptyque rose candle keeps the winter blues away.”
The lounge is just as impressive, with a huge and very cosy looking grey L-shaped sofa taking pride of place in the room.
While appearing on an episode of Gogglebox, Martin and Roman reclined on the snug sofa and in the background fans caught a glimpse of some stylish chandeliers and indoor plants.
And while the inside of the Kemp home is impressive, the garden truly is a space to marvel at too.
The elegant area has a courtyard with an outdoor fire which looks like a gorgeous place to sit in the summer.
There’s a rustic bench, and Shirlie positioned a large bucket with flowers in it on the seating area, for a photo opportunity.
