Macaulay Caulkin has dropped the most terrifying PSA about wearing masks, and we’re not sure we’ll be the same again after seeing it.
The Home Alone star paid homage to the beloved Christmas film by donning a mask of his younger self’s mouth, complete with his hands either side of his face.
The result is a sort of demonic hybrid between 40-year-old Macaulay and eight-year-old Kevin McCallister and he kind of rocks it.
‘Just staying Covid-safe wearing by the flayed skin of my younger self,’ he wrote, before reminding everyone: ‘Don’t forget to wear your masks, kids.’
Fans have had mixed responses to the mask, with one telling him: ‘This is the worst thing you have ever done and I’ve seen richie rich.’
Another added: ‘Oh this is fantastic! You definitely win the Face Mask Award. Everyone can go home now,’ while one more joked: ‘Are you gonna post a pic with the mask or?’
Macaulay has been pretty quiet on social media since he celebrated his 40th birthday in August, popping onto the internet to remind everyone just how old we’re all getting.
Hey, someone’s gotta do it.
The star left everyone unsettled simply by tweeting: ‘Hey guys, wanna feel old? I’m 40. You’re welcome.’
Although the star is best known for his role in the 1990 movie, Macaulay is set to try something new with a role in American Horror Story.
And it sounds like he’s been thrown in at the deep end, with showrunner Ryan Murphy revealing he’s set to film a ‘crazy’ sex scene with Kathy Bates.
Speaking to E! News, he shared that he is a big fan of Culkin and wanted to give him an ‘insane’ role. Teasing his ‘very, very great insane part’, Murphy went on: ‘I asked to speak to him on the phone and he said OK.
‘[When] I cast, I never let people read things, usually. I said, “OK, here’s the pitch.” And I told them the character and I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things.
‘And he paused and he goes, “This sounds like the role I was born to play.” So, he signed up right then and there.’
