It’s tiara time!
Kate Middleton made a much anticipated appearance this evening at the Queen’s 2019 Diplomatic Corps Reception donning the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara atop her signature glossy tresses, elegantly sculpted back into an ultra flattering, braided updo.
Kate paired the tiara with shimmering, chandelier style earrings and a matching necklace alongside her signature fresh faced but fabulously flushed beauty look.
Tonight’s reception marks the fifth consecutive time the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to wear the beloved Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara — that was also a favorite of the late Princess Diana. The tiara is the preferred headdress of choice for the duchess who most recently donned the Lover’s Knot tiara at the official State Banquet welcoming President Trump to the U.K. back in June.
Aside from being the tiara of choice for the Duchess and Princess Diana, the famed heirloom is a royal fan favorite as well — and with it’s dangling glamorous pearls and intricate pretzel style knots — how could it not be? The tiara itself is over a century old and was commissioned originally by Queen Mary in 1913 from the jeweler Garrard. It’s a replica of a tiara owned by Princess Augusta of Hesse, Queen Mary’s grandmother.
We love a glamorous tradition.
