Jedward star Edward Grimes has had his appendix removed and he tweeted to update his fans after the operation.
The star, 29, shared a photo from his hospital bed while holding up a peace sign and said to fans it had been a “scary situation.”
He explained: “Just had immediate surgery to remove my appendix.
“It was a life threatening and scary situation but I'm grateful the emergency team have operated on me and stopped the agony. I'm healing and on the road to recovery!”
The 29 year old’s comment section was flooded by fans wishing the singer a speedy recovery.
Replying to them to thank them, Edward said: “Thank you for your caring messages.”
He then urged fans to take severe pain in the abdominal area seriously, adding: “I’ve never experienced excruciating pain like this and knew something wasn’t right.
“Blood tests and CT scans indicated I needed surgery. I’m grateful it was caught in time just knowing the feeling that your body and appendix can lead to you poisoning yourself is insane.”
The Jedward star finished by saying: “Don’t brush off key signs from your body as health is everything.”

Just a couple of months ago, Jedward shaved their famous quiffs off on live TV to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society, after losing their mum to cancer.
The siblings, who shot to fame on The X Factor, said: "We are shaving our quiffs off to support the fighting heroes going through cancer.
"We're honouring the memory of all those who have come and gone, we are sending strength and love to all those suffering. Don't give up."
Speaking just before his hair was shaved off, John said: “We’ve had this hair for over 10 years. It’s part of our identity. I don’t think we’d be here today if we didn’t have the hair, but this is the first time we’re going to have our hair like this since the beginning of Jedward.
“To everyone who has cancer, you’re not alone. Everyone goes through cancer and has stories to tell. Our granddad had lung cancer and lived for 20 years with one lung and he had skin cancer.”
John himself got a shock as he saw himself without the quiff for the first time, as he said: “Jaysus! Who am I? Who is this person?," as show host Ryan Tubridy laughed.
Sharing a snap of themselves on Instagram with their newly-shaved heads, Jedward wrote: “2.6 Million Raised by the Irish Public for the Irish Cancer Society the work and services you provide is life changing! @irishcancersociety #Jedward #cancerawareness #cancer #irishcancersociety.”
