Hoda Kotb says she found true happiness at 49

Quotes queen Hoda Kotb shared one of her favorite and opened up about why it inspired her to publish her upcoming book “I Really Needed This Today.”

“One of them is, ‘You only need three things to be happy. Something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to,” she told Page Six at the 23rd annual Turn 2 Foundation Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday night.

The “Today” host said those words were really meaningful to her because it embodied what she was still searching for in life.

“I realized most of my life I’ve had something to do but that was it,” she said. “I didn’t really in that early time have someone to love and something to look forward to.”

But the TV star said that it wasn’t until she was older than she finally found what was missing.

“What I realized is that everything good in my life happened after 49,” she said. “I met Joel [Schiffman] at 49, we adopted Haley at 52, we adopted Hope at 54 — I mean it’s insane.”

She then encouraged people not to give up on finding their own happiness.

“For all the people who are late bloomers, hang in babe,” she said. “It’s fun at the end, it’s really fun at the end.”

Kotb, 55, and her boyfriend Schiffman welcomed their second adopted girl in April.

The talk show host also shared that there’s a lot of baby talk behind the scenes of “Today.”

Kotb told us that with several of her co-workers also having kids, it’s all anyone can talk about.

“I mean everyone’s so sick of us like literally, I feel sorry for our crew,” she said, joking, “They’re like ‘put your kid pictures away. We’re gonna gag.’ Literally, I think one of our cameramen barfed like nearby because we’re so entertained by our children and what they’re doing.”

On the plus side, she added that because they’re all going through parenting together, it’s easier to bond over.

“We can do it ad nauseam I think because we are all in the same boat,” she said. “Savannah, Dylan, Jenna, like everybody kinda just puts it out there.”
