Gemma Collins visits sick children after Dancing On Ice disaster

Gemma Collins is nothing if not a media genius, always knowing exactly what to do to keep herself in the headlines.

And, after a disastrous Dancing On Ice skate that saw her fall flat on her face on Sunday night, Gemma’s been treating a load of sick children to a visit from their favourite TOWIE star.

Gemma, 37, brought boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent and her mum Joan Collins with her to a hospice in Woodford Green the day after her fall.

"I’m Haven House Children’s Hospice today with the lovely team," she explained to her Instagram followers.

"Can’t wait to meet all the children, I’m so excited to be here."

Gem then panned round to show her mum – who herself has been ill with rheumatoid arthritis – talking with the medical professionals about the importance of keeping a garden outside the children’s windows so they can watch the wildlife.

The DOI star showed herself meeting the rest of the fundraising team, praising the "amazing work they do" for all the children who stay in the hospice.

And she got a shock when she found one of the fundraisers was a long-lost friend from primary school.

"Not only is it so amazing to be at Haven House today, oh my god, I went to school with this person 30 years ago. It’s Abu! I just see him and nearly cried, I was like, ‘Abu! It’s you!’ I was so over the moon," she told her camera.

"Anything you want to say, Abu?"

Gemma’s old friend turned to the camera to say: "Just to say thank you to Gemma for all the help you do with the Christmas appeal, it makes a massive difference to our work."

A clearly smug Gemma decided to push the point, asking him: "Yeah what happened with that, Abu? I did the video and it raised how many views?"

Sadly her footage cut out then, so we never got to find out quite how many people watched her charity video.

Gemma seemed to be walking around fine, despite needing to be transported in a wheelchair after her brutal fall on Sunday.

The GC, who this weekend managed to avoid a second showdown with DOI judge Jason Gardiner, was spotted limping outside her Essex home yesterday morning before falling into a wheelchair pushed by Arg.

She was ruled out of ice-rink rehearsals yesterday, despite telling her fans she was going to channel Tyson Fury and carry on as normal.
