Fearne Cotton admits husband Jesse Wood drives her ‘mental’

Fearne Cotton has candidly admitted her husband Jesse Wood drives her 'mental' and that she can't stand sleeping anywhere near him.

The BBC Radio 2 host recently revealed their relationship almost crumbled last year, and has now dished on their domestic arrangements and the super-sized bed she bought to keep her husband away.

"My bedroom is my calm zone – where I try to escape the chaos. My bed is super-king size because I don't want my husband anywhere near me when I'm sleeping," she told Notebook.

And in an admission that most long-term couples can relate to, she said living with messy Jesse – who is the son of Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood – is testing for a neat freak like herself.

"Jesse is the opposite. He makes a cup of tea and leaves the cupboard doors open, tea bags on the side, milk still out two hours later, it literally drives me mental," Fearne, 37, said.

"But I do his head in too, because he'll get clothes out to wear and I'll have tidied them away before he even gets out the shower."

The couple met in Ibiza in 2011 and went on to have son Rex, six, and daughter Honey, four.

But in January she revealed their marriage had been put to the test in 2018 due to the pressures of their respective careers.

"Love takes hard work – and no one wants to hear that," she wrote in her column for Red magazine.

"This year, Jesse and I hit a rough patch – he was away, touring relentlessly [with his band, Reef].

"I was trying to keep my own career going while looking after our kids and we were both desperately clinging on to our marriage."

The tension culminated in a two-hour 'screaming match' in the middle of a park, which left both wondering, "where the love had gone."

Thankfully, they managed to work through their difficulties, which Fearne said led to, "an even deeper kind of love."

“We knew each other that bit better, we respected each other that bit more," she explained.

“In that moment, we both stopped to remember that we are passionate in these situations because we care deeply.”
