Dame Joan Collins livid at builders without facemasks working on her house

Dame Joan Collins has shared her frustrations after waking up to find builders had begun work on her home without masks on.

The actress and author, 87, shared a video of a team of workmen who had begun working on the building she lives in and has been quarantining in, with none of the men seen wearing face masks.

She added: ‘Woke up to find two workmen on my balcony not wearing #masks and several of them #maskless all over the building putting scaffolding up.

‘Being careful to quarantine and having no contact with people – why should others invade my quarantine?’

Dame Joan later added a photo of the front of her building with sheeting and scaffolding up, telling her followers: ‘Thank you @hmgovernment for closing so-called #nonessential industry like #restaurants #shops and #theatre yet allowing #decoration #works to harass and plunge those of us who are in enforced #isolation into #darkness#madness #senseless #policy#cantgoout’.

The Dynasty star and her husband, Percy Gibson, 56, have gone to great lengths to isolate amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and reportedly contacted the police over the workmen appearing at her Belgravia home.

Percy told the Daily Mail: ‘[The police] are talking to Joan outside now. What is so annoying is that these works are unnecessary.

‘Surely, they could have waited until lockdown is over. Are they really essential? I can understand works taking place to repair gas mains or build houses, but not this, which is external redecoration to make a house pretty.’

Dame Joan recently got her first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, being in the over-80s category, and described it as ‘painless’.

She told Good Morning Britain that she ‘rushed’ to get the jab when she was called, adding: ‘I really wanted to get it.

‘I just wanted to tell anybody who is worried about it, there is nothing to worry about. It was the easiest thing.

‘It was just like a little scratch, there was no pain at all. I had no after effects. I went home and had a drink, even.’
