Artie Lange is back in the news for all the wrong reasons once again after a very disturbing mugshot of his has again gone viral.
The comedian was in court on Wednesday in Essex County, New Jersey for a drug-related appointment when, after the hearing, he was reportedly arrested for testing positive for cocaine and morphine.
The mugshot of Wednesday arrest in Essex County (inset, above) is catching everybody’s attention, considering it shows how far Artie has come since he saw better days (pictured above back in 2006, while filming a TV talk show).
Last month the comic shared a pic of his face, which had become distorted after snorting broken glass, leading to a deluge of pleas from friends to get help.
Police sources told TMZ the black mark below Lange’s nose in that disturbing mugshot is a scab that had started to bleed. Wow…
Lange’s attorney Frank Arleo spoke to the outlet about the courtroom incident, saying (below):
“ was taken into custody so that the Drug Court could re-evaluate him and recommend a course of treatment. Once that is done, he will be released. Artie is committed to getting better.”
But whoever is running Artie Lange’s official Twitter account disagreed, tweeting on Thursday afternoon that the lawyer’s comments were “taken out of context” (below):
And that follows this tweet from late yesterday, suggesting rehab is on the horizon for Artie (below):
Whatever is going on there, one thing is for certain: we’re definitely pulling for Artie as he takes on the battle of a lifetime to eventually, hopefully get clean once and for all!
