Carol Vorderman all smiles on night out with rarely-seen children

Carol Vorderman has shared a sweet photo of herself and her children – who are rarely seen and tend to remain out of the public eye – to celebrate the Pride of Manchester Awards.

The Channel 4 Countdown legend, 62, who appeared on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity South Africa which finished last night, is rarely seen with her two children.

In the sweet snaps, Carol was joined by her son Cameron, 25, and her daughter Katie, 31, with the trio smiling, while clearly enjoying their night out together.

In the pictures, Carol can be seen laughing alongside her children, as the family pose on a staircase at the Pride of Manchester Awards on Wednesday night.

Carol is wearing a floor-length red gown, and looks absolutely stunning, while daughter Katie is in a floor length white gown. Meanwhile son Cameron is wearing a suit, shirt and tie.

Other celebrities who attended the event included Christine McGuinness, pregnant Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara, and Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, while Kym Marsh hosted the event.

While Carol rarely shares updates about her children, she did previously share a loving tribute to son Cameron in 2021 when he graduated.

She wrote on Instagram: ”Such a wonderful day @dundeeuni.So Cameron was in a special school with severe learning difficulties for most of his early life but he's worked hard and learned strategies and boy how he's turned it all around.I couldn't be prouder of him.”

She also added: "We never dared to dream this day might come when he graduated with a first class honours last year and now a Masters degree in Animation and VFX… Thank you Dundee for giving him all that you have over the last year. Amazing.”

Carol also previously opened up about Cameron’s difficulties at school and how he was cruelly “rejected” by his teachers and branded as being “disruptive” due to his learning difficulties.

The mum-of-two also said that her son was branded as being “unteachable” and said: “By six, this child I loved so much, that I would have done anything for, was being rejected — by the school, by the teachers, by the other pupils. It was heart-breaking, utterly heartbreaking.

“And I was lost. Was I going to have to teach him at home, myself? How? I just wasn't equipped. I didn't know how to teach a child with this level of special needs."

Carol shares her two children with management consultant Patrick King, whom she married in 1990 before separating 10 years later in 2000.
