Ariana Grande creeps out fans with her upside down Christmas tree

After her whirlwind year, Ariana Grande has decided to turn Christmas on its head.

The singer opted to sidestep the usual festive tradition of keeping your Christmas tree on the ground by attaching hers to the ceiling of her New York apartment instead.

Soon after it went…up snaps emerged online of Ariana’s bizarre upside down tree, which was dressed with fairy lights, baubles and a star at the top – or should that be bottom?

Ariana’s big brother Frankie also joined in the fun by sharing a picture of him gazing admiringly at the modern decor, but his fans weren’t so sure.

"So weird," commented one.

"Santa is gonna be real confused when he walks in to find the f***ing tree on the damn roof," fired off another.

But others seemed to like Ariana’s twist on the usual format. "This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen," applauded one.

After the pictures were shared online, Ariana came out to explain the meaning behind her ‘wonky’ tree.

She was seen leaving her apartment building on Tuesday when a TMZ photographer asked her what it was all about.

Ariana’s response hinted at the troubled year she’s had in 2018.

"Can you explain how you got a Christmas tree on the ceiling?" she was asked.

"No I can’t… but sometimes life is just upside down," Ariana sassily responed.

It comes just days after Ariana rushed to the NBC studios to support her ex-fiancé Pete Davidson after he posted a worrying message on social media.

The 25-year-old had caused concern for his 2.5 million Instagram followers by revealing that he "really don’t want to be on this earth anymore" before deleting his account.

Ariana was reported to be so concerned for his wellbeing that she travelled to the studios where Pete was due to film Saturday Night Live.

She also wrote an apology to Pete for a "dumb joke" that she had posted previously. The singer believes that this may have been the catalysts for Pete’s demeanour.

With fans worrying about Pete, Ariana tweeted: "man i’m so sorry i told a dumb joke. i really didn’t mean any harm. all i want everyone to be healthy and happy. so desperately. please. my god."

She then followed that minutes later with a message of support that seemed to indicate that she was in the same building as Pete.

Ariana tweeted that despite her not being ‘who he needs’ but wanted Pete to know that she was ‘there for him too’.

The superstar singer wrote: "I’m downstairs [at SNL] and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything. I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but i’m here too."
