Amanda Holden ‘eyeing up move to US’ after America’s Got Talent meetings

Britain’s Got TalentjudgeAmanda Holdenis reportedly getting ready to leave the UK and head to the US.

The actress has already put her London home up for sale and has spent the last two weeks meeting with prominent producers in Los Angeles, suggesting a potential move to Hollywood, according to reports.

Amanda's 17-year-old daughter Lexi, who is a model, has been exploring university options in the United States and considering schools in Los Angeles, Boston, and New York.

Amanda, 52, is keen to help her daughter settle abroad – while she could potentially be preparing for a US TV debut.

“She spent the school hols in LA with the whole family, and had a wonderful time.

A source told The Sun: “She’s been hanging out with Simon and his fiancee, Lauren, who have been encouraging her to make the move, and enjoy the sunshine and blue skies permanently.

“She even visited the set of America’s Got Talent, and sat alongside judges Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara. The producers absolutely loved her."

The source added that Amanda "fitted in really well" with the ladies.

“Amanda’s had interest from a couple of top agents too, and it just feels like now could be the time to make the leap. Some exciting conversations are being had," they said.

OK! has contacted Amanda's representative for comment.

Amanda and BGT boss Simon share a close friendship, and she expressed her gratitude last month to The Times, saying: "I am eternally grateful that Simon Cowell took a chance on me."

She added" "Simon likes to say he made people like me, and it's true."

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Amanda revealed Simon is “back to his evil self” on the latest series of BGT, adding “which is good because I’ve missed that.”

She said: “I don’t like it when he gives everyone a second chance. I’m like, ‘Who are you?’ I prefer the bad Simon.”

The return of the ITV show last Saturday drew around half a million fewer viewers than last year, when the show came back on the air for the first time since the pandemic.

ITV said the first episode of the 16th series had an average of 5.5 million viewers based on overnight figures. The peak viewing figure of the premiere of the talent show on Saturday at 8 pm was 6.2 million viewers.

The broadcaster said it was ITV1’s highest-rated programme of the year based on overnight figures.
