Kelly Ripa’s Anti-Aging Skincare Tips

Kelly Ripa’s Anti-Aging Skincare Tips

Kelly Ripa has one of those faces that most everyone recognizes. Perhaps you’ve caught a glimpse of her on her talk show Live! With Kelly and Ryan while going about your morning routine. Or you may possibly recognize her from her acting days and appearances in ABC’s All My Children or Hope & Faith. But maybe you know Kelly Ripa for being the shining and smiling, beautiful and clear face that the media just can’t seem to get enough of.

At the ripe age of 50, Ripa still sparkles under the spotlight and holds the public’s admiring eye. And that’s not just because of her flawless complexion and killer style. Ripa is happy. In almost every photo you see of her, she is beaming from ear to ear, having FUN.

Ripa told Woman’s Day the secret behind her reliable smile: “I always approach my job like somebody right now is in an emergency room somewhere and they need something light, they need something happy, they need something joyful…if you can make that person happy or smile or even chuckle for a second, then you’ve done your job.”

But how does someone who is constantly under the spotlight maintain such a cheerful disposition? What does Kelly Ripa do daily that allows her to continue bringing us all joy with no expense?

I did some digging. Here’s what Ripa attributes to her youthful, glowy, beautiful-inside-and-out appearance and attitude:

She does a facial massage every morning.

Now, getting down to Kelly Ripa’s favorite products. (A.k.a. The items already in my shopping cart.) The morning show host wakes up every day at 5 a.m. The first item on her to-do list is to show her skin some love: “Your skin is such a huge organ,” she explained to Prevention.

After a quick shower, Ripa moisturizes her face and massages it with a jade roller, rose quartz face rollers, and a Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar all of which have been iced, she described.

Massaging your face helps to de-puffify whatever fluids may be causing your cheeks to swell. Especially after a good night’s rest, rolling the fluid up and away from your face helps with healthy drainage and a contoured appearance .

She credits her youthful skin to oils… and botox.

Next up is skin hydration. Ripa is a fan of oils for her skin and uses the 2 Note Renewal Facial Serum, which consists of skin-plumping hyaluronic acid and brightening vitamin C.

She also swears by the Uma Oils Absolute Anti-Aging Face Oil, which is infused with lots of nourishing essential oils that maintain her glowy look: “I guess this is my anti-aging secret—this and Botox, if we’re being honest,” Ripa told NYMag, “It’s my one luxury. It’s pricey but worth it.” She applies the oil both in the morning and at night for skin that feels constantly moisturized.

She’s never caught outside without her SPF.

An absolute non-negotiable for Kelly Ripa is sunscreen. Everyday, no matter where she is headed or how much time she will spend outdoors, Ripa is always wearing her La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Mineral Ultra Light Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 50. This product is oil and fragrance-free and offers additional skin benefits, such as protective antioxidants and a natural, non-greasy finish, according to the La Roche-Posay site.

Ripa reflected on her careless teenage summer days in the sun and now consistently applies sunscreen in any and every situation to protect her skin from further damage: “Sun bounces off reflective surfaces and you don’t realize the older you get, it’s the sun you experienced as a teenager when you didn’t protect your skin that comes back to haunt you as a 50 year old,” she told Prevention.

She removes her makeup stat.

At the end of her long day, sometimes while her show’s credits are still rolling, Ripa is taking her makeup off. Her personal favorite is the Alcone Make-Off Makeup Remover Cloths: “These wipes are so efficient. You don’t have to scrub your skin to get the makeup off, and they don’t leave your skin feeling greasy either,” she told NYMag.

Keeping your skin clean is just one part of skincare, treating it with the TLC it craves is another. “The older you get, your skin becomes like a piece of paper, so you want to really be gentle with it,” Kelly Ripa told NYMag.

She loves her supplements.

Ripa turns to Persona, a personalized vitamin brand that she is an ambassador for, to keep her body happy and healthy: “I took the assessment and really figured out that the gaps in my nutrition were not severe, but they were significant enough where I felt the full benefit of having these small gaps filled. I’m sleeping better. I don’t have indigestion all the time,” she told NYMag.

“The older I get, the more I realize that it was the nutritional aspect,” Ripa told Prevention in regards to the aspect of her life that correlates most with her inner and outer beauty. Lesson one: give your body what it’s asking for.
