‘Titans’ Showrunner Teases ‘Better Season 2 Opener,’ Confirms Rumors About Original Season 1 Finale

‘Titans’ Showrunner Teases ‘Better Season 2 Opener,’ Confirms Rumors About Original Season 1 Finale

AceShowbiz -“Titans” recently wrapped its first season, but fans seemingly felt that the there were so many eyebrow-raising things in the season 1 finale. The DC Universe show previously indicated a focus change during production, and that made fans think that it wasn’t the original season 1 finale.

Unlike typical season finales that would feature explosive stories that give every character a chance to shine, the episode solely focused on Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites). With that, fans speculated the series made a new episode to be served as season 1 finale to fill in the gap, while the original season finale will become season 2 premiere episode.

It turns out, the fan-theory is true as showrunner Greg Walker confirmed it to TVLine. “We thought it was such a good cliffhanger at the end of 11,” he explained. “We wanted to go for an even bigger, better season 2 opener. We had a big idea, and our friends at DC bought it.”

It’s not the first time “Titans” made a change plan during the production. It was previously announced that Doom Patrol was set to make a cameo appearance in episode 5. However, it eventually happened earlier as the strangest team in DC comics appeared in episode 4.

In addition, Walker teased a new villain in the upcoming sophomore season of “Titans”. “Because Trigon’s role in canon is so huge,” the showrunner shared. “We felt like we really needed to give him a really big episode, the kind you can launch a season with.”

“I like the rendition of Trigon in the books, but I always thought it was more interesting to kind of play the human seductive side of evil that preys on your weaknesses rather than just preying on your fear,” Walker added to Entertainment Weekly. “We thought of casting Seamus [Dever] and also giving him a character who was seductive would be more effective in understanding the nature of evil. That was the first choice. Whether or not we’ll see him take on that form when tested remains to seen, but I know as a fan that I would like to see it.”

Sophomore season of “Titans” is allegedly set to begin filming in early 2019.
